Mária Zádori (soprano) has appeared in most European countries and in the United States, Australia and Israel as a soloist in historic early music productions. She made several recordings of Renaissance and Baroque music, mostly with the Baroque orchestras
Capella Savaria and
Concerto Armonico. They include a recording of Handel’s chamber duets with Paul Esswood and Monteverdi’s
Combattimento directed by Nicholas McGegan. She has made recordings for the
Westdeutscher Rundfunk (Cologne), too. She performed at the 1986 Innsbruck Festival in the title role of J. J. Fux’ opera
Pulcheria. The following year she met with great success at the Göttingen Handel Festival. Mária Zádori also appeared with Nicholas McGegan’s San Francisco based
Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, with
Il Giardino Armonico and with the
Australian Chamber Orchestra, moreover with Roy Goodman and Ton Koopman.
